2017 Jeep Compass Trailhawk Makes “More Than You Need” a Complete Blast

Ever since the Jeep brand made a name for itself as the go-to off-road purveyor in World War II, every model it builds comes with some degree of off-road greatness. In recent years, models like the 2017 Compass Trailhawk have been offered with rock-crawling versatility built-in right out of the box. Given the Compass is all-new and never had a Trailhawk version before, however, many of us were wondering what to expect.

In a thorough review by Motortrend, we got some pretty great insight into just how well the Compass fares off-road. Like its stablemates, Selec-Terrain and Active Drive Low AWD are on hand for trail-ready performance, and a half-inch increase in ride height and unique bumpers enable stellar approach, break-over, and departure angles. All told, Motortrend’s tests showed them that the Compass Trailhawk will be more capable than many will need without creeping too far into “Wrangler” territory.

For all its off-road cred, the Compass’ 30 mpg-highway rating, strong presence, and up to 54 cu-ft of seats-down cargo room helps it stand-out against the crowded CUV market. To see if it speaks to you, our Jeep model dealership in Greer, SC can schedule you for a test drive. We’re just a phone call away!
