We evaluated the two most popular vehicles to see which is the best: the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2023 Ford Expedition. Let's take a look.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Jeep Grand Cherokee comes in three different models, a two-row, three-row, and the plug-in hybrid 4xe. And with three available 4x4 systems, you have the power to handle anything the road (or off-road) throws at you. Having a larger SUV shouldn't mean that you sacrifice your off-roading capabilities, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee doesn't disappoint. And since Jeep offers the options of a Class-exclusive available V8 engine or a Class-exclusive PHEV engine, there is something for everyone.

The Ford Expedition

The Ford Expedition is a full-size SUV that can cart around the whole family and tow a boat without skipping a beat. Third-row seating, truck-like capabilities, and a twin-turbo V6 engine make this SUV a great option for those looking for an SUV that performs like a truck. The Expedition was recently updated in 2022 with fresher styling, new Timberline and Stealth trim, and technology updates, so the 2023 model will likely be a carryover model with less significant changes. The Ford Expedition is not offering the hybrid version in 2023 however, but they are offering a twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 for those looking to save a little at the pump.

Deciding which vehicle is best for you and your needs is ultimately your choice, but the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee gets our vote! With so many options to choose from, including the PHEV engine, we would climb mountains to get one of these babies for our own. And since it is made by Jeep, you'll be able to climb some mountains of your own! Having the option to choose from a two-row or a three-row is also convenient, depending on what you are looking for in an SUV.
