Why Brake Repair is Important
The brakes in your vehicle serve a critical function of stopping your car when you need to. Without brakes, driving would look uncomfortably similar to someone on ice skates who never learned how to stop - or worse, can only stop by running into a wall or another person. Fortunately, car brakes are designed to stop your vehicle's momentum quickly, and car brake service can ensure they work properly.
When You Should Get Brake Repair
While many service needs can be put off for a little while, brake repairs should happen whenever you notice something off with your brakes. Signs you might need to get your brakes checked include if the brakes are spongy or make a grinding or high-pitched squeaking noise or if your car isn't stopping as quickly as you're accustomed to. Brakes generally only last up to 50,000 miles before they need to be replaced.
The Brake Repair Process
Step 1
To replace the brake pads and rotors, our certified technicians will check the brake fluid level, remove the bolts and the caliper, and remove the old brake pads and rotor.
Step 2
The technician will clean the rotor mounting surface and the new rotor, then install the new rotor, hardware, brake pads, and caliper.
Step 3
The final step is to check the brake fluid reservoir, pump the brakes, and then recheck the reservoir to ensure no brake fluid is leaking.
Cost of Brake Repair
The average cost of a brake pad replacement is around $150 per axle and can go as high as $300 per axle depending on the material of your vehicle's brake pads. Check out our current service specials on our Service Specials page.
