How many miles does the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe get?

One major drawback for those considering purchasing a fully electric or hybrid electric vehicle is the concern on range and how much usage you can actually get out of your vehicle. The good news is that as technology develops, drivers can get more bang for their buck when it comes to distance, allowing for a larger driving range and better efficiency.

Official EPA electric ranges and efficiencies are in for the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid, and the great news is that they are very close to the estimates that Jeep put out.

The EPA rating for the plug-in hybrid SUV is a 26 mile range when driving fully electric, all pulled from the 17 kwh battery, and an efficiency rating of 56 MPGe combined. Jeep stated that the goal was 25 miles of electric range and 57 MPGe, which is right on the money for official EPA ratings.

With the gasoline engine only, the Grand Cherokee 4xe is rated at 23 mpg combined (23 city and 24 highway). The ratings for the Grand Cherokee 4xe beat the Wrangler 4xe model at 22 miles of electric, 49 MPGe combined, and 20 mpg combined fuel efficiency.

As the new year has come, the same will be true for the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We know based on the 2022 model that Jeep's estimates are highly accurate, and the 2023 estimates are good. The 4xe boasts 375 horsepower, 470 lb-ft of torque, and 6,000lbs of towing capability, not to mention an estimated 56 miles MPGe based on the manufacturer's estimate, which is right in line with the model from the previous year. There is also an estimated 23 mile range using the all-electric feature with an expected combined range of around 470 miles.

These features mean that while the Grand Cherokee 4xe claims to be one of the most planet-friendly vehicles in its class, it doesn't sacrifice off-road capabilities to do so. The hybrid SUV really pushes to claim the best of both worlds. Meanwhile, additional features are being developed for the 4xe models to further improve their off-road capabilities and features.

While the 4xe plug-in hybrids are outstanding and a huge step towards more climate friendly vehicles, the hybrid is only the first step in Jeep's plans for electrification. Jeep designers plan to create an entire line-up of electric vehicles by 2025. Specific models haven't been released to the public, but we are eagerly waiting for the news.
