CDJ's Plans for an Electric Future | Greer, SC

The 2020s are set to be a decade of impressive change in the automotive industry. Electric vehicles (EVs), both hybrids and all-electric options, are becoming more and more common in the United States. This trend is set to continue. All of the major automakers are producing EVs today, or have announced plans to do so. Stellantis - the company that runs Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep - has recently announced that they will be producing all-electric vehicles in the (very) near future. This article is going to take a look at the companies' plans to help Greer, SC residents get as excited about these forthcoming vehicles as we are!

The Core EV Technology

Stellantis announced that, while plug-in hybrids will dominate their EV lineup in the near future, all-electric vehicles are the end goal. To that end, the company has developed four platforms on which to build fantastic all-electric vehicles. There are three unibody platforms, ranging from a small coup-sized version to SUV-size, and a body-on-frame platform that will be used for trucks and particularly large and adventure-oriented SUVs. These vehicles place the batteries and motors under the car, which makes for a vehicle with lots of room inside.

Stellantis appears to be making significant progress on unlocking the true potential of all-electric vehicle technology. The company says that these vehicles will get between 300 and 500 miles on a single charge, which is a significant step above current all-electric vehicles, which usually don't get much more than 300 miles to the charge. CDJ all-electric vehicles will also lead the pack when it comes to charging technology: Stellantis wants to get fast-charge options down to just 20 minutes!

Specific CDJ Announcements

Dodge and Jeep have both announced a significant expansion of their EV lineups. Jeep already has a variety of hybrid vehicles available, including, for example, the Wrangler 4xe. The company plans to expand their plug-in hybrid lineup; they will soon offer an EV in every market segment that they participate in. The company also hinted that an all-electric Wrangler is in the works!

Dodge, for its part, plans to release an all-electric Charger. Many Spartansburg drivers may wonder if this vehicle will be able to perform to the same level as the famous V8 Charger. They can rest assured that it will, and that it's likely to outstrip the traditional Charger in terms of sheer power. This is because all-electric vehicles use simple motor-and-battery systems, which can immediately engage at full power and with the highest possible torque settings. The all-electric Charger may end up setting records for acceleration!

Conclusion: CDJ's Electric Future

Stellantis has given Greenville drivers a heck of a lot to get excited about! All-electric Chargers and Wranglers are in the works, and the company's quartet of EV platforms promises many, many other great vehicles to come.
