Voyager versus Pacifica - The Basics

The simplest explanation of the difference between the Voyager and the Pacifica is that the former is a rebadged version of the Pacifica's base trims. Yet drivers deciding which vehicle to buy will want to look deeper to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each minivan.

Both the Voyager and the Pacifica use a similar powertrain, with a 3.6-liter V6 engine generating 287 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Pacifica also offers a hybrid platform, combining the V6 with two electric motors for a total output of 260 horsepower. Some Pacifica trims offer all-wheel drive as an available upgrade.

Both vehicles have the same basic dimensions and comparable levels of interior storage space. However, Chrysler's popular Stow 'n Go rear seat system is only available on non-hybrid Pacifica models. No Voyager trim offers Stow 'n Go.

Both Chrysler vehicles have strong safety ratings from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. The Pacifica and Voyager both benefit from a three-year/36,000-mile warranty, with a five-year/60,000 mile warranty on powertrain components. Hybrid components on Pacifica models are covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles.

Voyager versus Pacifica - Interior Offerings

Perhaps the biggest difference between the Voyager and the Pacifica is the level of interior refinement available. The Voyager has few modern perks and hardly any driver assistance features as standard. However, the Pacifica is comfortably outfitted with many of the latest sensors and advanced technology.

The central command feature of the Pacifica is the 10.1-inch infotainment screen which lets drivers develop customizable user profiles. The Pacifica also offers an interior camera system so drivers can keep an eye on the entire crew. The Voyager includes a seven-inch infotainment system, as well as a six-speaker sound system with active noise cancellation. Available upgrades include underfloor storage bins and a roof-mounted DVD player for the rear seats.

The Pacifica admirably merges luxury and convenience into one product. From power sliding doors to rear-seat family entertainment and an in-car vacuum cleaner, the Pacifica offers standard and available features designed to make life easier for its occupants. And for maximum luxury, drivers should consider the top-flight Pinnacle trim, offering fine leather and carpeting as well as lumbar support pillows for second-row passengers.
