Dodge Quality & Attention to Detail
Dodge has long been a popular choice among Greenville, SC drivers due to value, powerful engines, and outstanding features. But in recent years, Dodge has been getting attention from major publications for its high initial quality and reliability. What has led to these improvements?
FCA's North American head of quality has called it a "component-level" approach to quality. By starting quality analysis at the component level, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM make sure that SC buyers enjoy a hassle-free experience with their new vehicle.
By aggressively targeting components small and large with increased QC, Dodge and FCA's other brands have climbed the ranks in initial quality and reliability. J.D. Power has Dodge ranked 1st in 2020, with RAM right behind in 3rd place. RAM was outside of the Top 10 in last year's initial quality rankings, so it's clear that their efforts on improving component quality are paying off.

What Does This Mean for South Carolina Dodge Owners?
One thing that South Carolina Dodge owners should know, is that these improvements in Dodge's quality control don't mean that your Dodge from a couple years ago is of "lower quality." The main benefit is that fewer new Dodge vehicles will have quality issues. J.D. Power Initial Quality is based on how many owners report issues with their vehicle within the first 90 days of ownership.
These problems can be anything from cosmetic, to mechanical, to just dislikes. This means the scores aren't an absolute measure of quality. However, by putting excellent attention to detail to all components of their vehicles, Dodge has effectively reduced the chance for error.
FCA North America's Head of Quality told Car and Driver: "These outcomes are the result of an intense, ongoing, company-wide effort to prevent issues from getting to the customer and responding with the right urgency and resolution when they do. We are committed to the customer, and this effort will not stop."
