RAM 2500

The RAM 2500 is a popular choice for drivers who need to tow heavy equipment. As a heavy-duty truck, the RAM 2500 is designed for hard work above and beyond the capabilities of its wildly popular mass-market 1500 brethren.

With a maximum towing capacity exceeding 19,000 pounds and a 4,000 pound payload, the 2500 offers drivers a versatile work machine that can handle multiple tasks. The 2500 boasts options such as a dual rear-wheel setup for increased towing performance. Also on the option sheet is a rig allowing for fifth-wheel/gooseneck trailer towing capability.

The 2500 gets around with a 6.4-liter V8 gas engine or a 6.7-liter diesel inline-six. The gas engine uses an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel uses a six-speed.

Like other RAM vehicles, the 2500 is known for interior refinement. From the 12-inch infotainment touchscreen in front of the vehicle to the Mega Cab's largest rear seat in the class, the 2500 helps its owner work in style.

RAM 3500

The RAM 3500 offers many of the same benefits as the 2500, from the upscale interior to the impressive towing and payload metrics. But as a step above the 2500, the 3500 is prepared for even tougher jobs.

The RAM 3500 is available with the same engine options as the 2500. Yet the 3500 also offers a variant of the 6.7-liter inline-six diesel which can produce up to 420 horsepower and 1,075 pound-feet of torque. When properly equipped, this engine can help the 3500 tow over 37,000 pounds.

As a heavy duty truck, the first calling of the RAM 3500 is obviously work. But as with the rest of the RAM truck lineup, the 3500 allows its driver to enjoy life on the job. With a class-leading 17 speakers and distinctive leather draped-trims such as the Limited Longhorn, the RAM 3500 is as refined as it is capable.

Which Truck is Right for Me?

The RAM 2500 and the RAM 3500 are both very strong commercial pickup truck options. The 3500 offers higher capacity levels at a higher price point, but both models are suitable for most jobs.
