After a decade of offering only two-row models, the Jeep lineup is now flush with three-row options. At Benson CDJ, we are proud to bring an extensive lineup of off-road optimized Jeep vehicles to Anderson-area garages. Wagoneer Versus Grand Wagoneer - Design, Powertrain, Performance

At first glance, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer may seem rather similar. Both vehicles use the same basic frame, with a high-performance V8 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Each brand will also have a long-wheelbase variant released in the coming years. Yet this shared basic profile masks the significant array of exciting features and customization options available throughout the two lineups, as well as the differences between the models.

The V8 on the Grand Wagoneer is a 6.4-liter variant producing 471 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. The Wagoneer is slightly less powerful, with a 5.7-liter engine producing 392 horsepower and slightly over 400 pound-feet of torque. However, the Wagoneer's 10,000-pound towing capacity is stronger than that of the Grand Wagoneer. Also, the Wagoneer's eTorque mild hybrid system adds an extra boost of power when needed. Both models have four-wheel drive systems, though rear-wheel drive is standard on the Wagoneer.

Wagoneer Versus Grand Wagoneer - Interior and Options

While their engines and off-road specifications make the Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer outstanding vehicles, the SUVs really shine in terms of their interiors. Both the Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer market themselves as luxury full-sized SUVs, with the Grand Wagoneer being even more so.

With exclusive trims, features and options, the Grand Wagoneer brings an entirely new level of choice to Spartanburg drivers. From its real wood surfaces and power running boards to its slate of optional colors and combined 75 inches of screens, the Grand Wagoneer resets the standard for luxury in the SUV space. And for Greenville drivers who want the Nappa leather and the 12-way power adjustable front seats of the Wagoneer, the Grand Wagoneer responds with Palermo leather seating and 24-way power adjustable front seats.

The Wagoneer offers eight-person seating as standard, with a seven-passenger layout available. The Grand Wagoneer, however, starts with the seven-passenger option as standard, with the ability to add in an extra seat if the buyer so chooses. The Grand Wagoneer also has an exclusive top-level Obsidian trim, in addition to the Series I, II and III trims it shares with the standard Wagoneer.

The Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer are both great choices for families. While the Grand Wagoneer offers a larger stable of options and a higher standard of luxury, the standard Wagoneer offers plenty of luxury and excitement for drivers unable to meet the Grand Wagoneer's price tag. Jeep has long been an automaker with a significant three-row hole in its lineup. With the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, the automaker has found the ideal fix.
