The difference between a 2022 Grand Wagoneer and 2023 Grand Wagoneer

Grand Wagoneer

As each year transitions to the next, out with the old and in with the new, car brands and companies start to release their models for the upcoming year. With all of the new models being released, sometimes it's difficult to determine the difference between the models from the past year to the upcoming one. The Grand Wagoneer is also moving into its new year of production, releasing the 2023 Grand Wagoneer. But what is the difference between the 2023 and the 2022 models? The short answer is that there haven't been any major changes to the model. Even with no major changes, there is still a lot to look forward to in the 2023 Grand Wagoneer.

Standard vs L

The Grand Wagoneer is broken up into two body types: The Grand Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer L, which expands the body of the vehicle by twelve inches, lengthening the vehicle just enough to give you loads more room for cargo. Just how much space can you add? The Grand Wagoneer L boasts a total of 44.2 cubic feet of cargo capacity behind the third row. This is almost double the capacity of the standard Grand Wagoneer.

Engine

The Grand Wagoneer comes standard with a 6.4 liter V8 engine, but if you want an upgrade, the available 3.0 liter Hurricane  Twin-Turbo 510 I6 engine delivers more horsepower, torque, and towing capacity. Standard horsepower sits at 510, torque is 500 lb-ft, and the max towing capacity is 9,750 lbs when properly equipped. As far as fuel efficiency, the Grand Wagoneer gets 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.

Awards

The Grand Wagoneer has won a handful of awards, including the best Interior as voted by the Texas Auto Writers Association, the best new feature for the Hurricane Twin Turbo engine as voted by the Texas Auto Writers Association, 2022 Best Full-Size SUV,

2022 highest ranked driver appeal among large premium SUVs by JD Power, and 2022 Wards ten  best interiors and user experience.

Interior and Technology

The interior of the vehicle is designed with state of the art technology, confort, and safety in mind. Available is over 75 inches of display between the first and second rows, including available features such as a class-exclusive passenger interactive display, a Uconnect system, and a McIntosh entertainment system.

This McIntosh system is the first time McIntosh puts its MX1375 Reference Entertainment System to an automotive speaker or audio system, and the result is a  sound system that even the pickiest of music-lovers can enjoy.

The perk of the cargo space in this vehicle also comes with one major drawback: what happens when you fill it up? For those hauling cargo, worry no more with a digital rearview mirror that allows you to use a camera on the back of the vehicle to provide an unobstructed live view behind. Additionally available is a rear seat monitoring camera to allow you to keep an eye on any rear seat passengers or goods.
